This is the lower of the two large ponds photographed in December. The reeds and gunnera have died back and it all looks a bit bare. There's still cover for the ducks which is just as well because we have lots of badgers and foxes. The reed beds are the night time roosting spots and allow the ducks to stay safe on the water.
